Amanda + Dylan’s Town Farm Organic Wedding
Connecticut Wedding Photography | Modern Vintage Wedding Style
You MAY recall their adorable engagement session from back in June. Well after that I KNEW that this wedding was going to be something extra-special! The fun started at the Mystic Marriott and Spa with the gals getting prepped while the men were all getting dressed at over at The Farm.
THIS DRESS – oh my god. I don’t usually get all THAT excited by dresses, because for me (unfortunately) a lot of them look the same ( you know us GUYS…) But this was something extra special – so detailed and unique I couldn’t stop staring at it! Of course, it didn’t hurt that it was fitted so well that it Amanda wore it like a glove.

So meanwhile at the house my intrepid second shooter Joel Callaway was with the men the whole time and got all these great shots of them getting prepped. I know Joel’s work for a very long time but we never had the chance to work together until this day. He’s a great guy with a ton of fun energy even when mine started to wain a little now and then in the heat!
Plus we’re both really tall, so we have that in common.
Incredible, herbal and Hop boutineires.

Final prep continues back at the hotel
Another one of Joel’s really cool moments!
There was this horn-thing-a-ma-bob too. I missed what was happening here but love Joel’s photo!!

A word about the weather. It may or not appear this way, but it was about a Billion degrees (no really, about that much!) So I give the guys credit for wearing as many layers as some chose to. Here however, you can see Dylan waits until the last minute to be bothered with pants. I think he just should have stayed this way! LOL

Back at the hotel, the gals help Amanda with this amazing beaded, vintage headpiece that I could not get enough of (weighed a ton too!)
See? What did I tell you: look at that dress!
A quick natural window light portrait. So you know in a hotel they have those heavy plastic light-blocking-window-things behind the curtains? Sometimes they’re sorta nasty and icky? Well, THAT is what I had a bridesmaid hold out to create an impromptu ‘backdrop’. I though t it worked pretty well for something so ugly in person!!!!
I’m sorry–Amanda just kills me she’s so funny–we found a vacuum in th hallway and this was the ‘even on my wedding I have to do housework’ photo!!!
Dad and Grandma see her in the lobby for the first time!

So if you run an Organic Farm (as Amanda and Dylan do) , and you have a flower girl–why NOT do a basket of vegetables??! I swear that was one of the cutest things i’d seen in a very long time in the flower Department! And if she got hangry—well……

No really: could she be ANY sweeter??!!

Keeping in mind it was now a TRILLION degrees with 300% humidity, we needed to work fast and efficient for formals, as the 2 of them were starting to wilt a bit (Poor Amanda looked like she was ready to pass out at one point–it was brutal!) So we zipped over to the gardens and grabbed these images, working as fast as i could so they could get back in, hydrate and cool off a bit.
This is one of my favorites!
_____
The tent details were exquisite
Dylan and his Moms dance was REALLY entertaining!
_____
and These Guys–AMAZING!
Sugartone Brass band out of NYC. Just incredible, ‘Bourbon Streety’, foot-stomping jazz that I could have listened to long into the night. SO GREAT to hear something so ‘un-typical’!!! Amazingly entertaining.
All the kids got involved dancing too!!!
A little death-defying HORA chair action!!!
I adored this detail of hanging, glowing umbrellas in the trees
We had cupcakes.
A washboard.
Amazing, glittering table details…
…and a rubber horse head.
I wasn’t scared until that last part. 🙂
And who wouldn’t want to be carried away at the end of the night!
WOW–thank you SO much for letting me a part of this. It was one of those weddings I was REALLY looking forward to that did not disappoint!!!
