vintage motels in Las Vegas
Roadside America | Mid-Century Hotel Signage in Las Vegas
Well I figure while i’m discovering these old files why stop now while on on an old motel roll?! This set is from the outskirts of Las Vegas. If you are at all familiar with Vegas, this was all located past that downtown “Fremont Street Experience” thing they built. It goes from all that to this kind of sad part of town. I actually Googled ‘old vegas motels’ and found a tip to head to this direction. I will admit, having some here alone, I was hesitant to get out of my car so many of these – i’m embarrassed to admit – were taken out of the parked car so i could hit the gas if need be!
These were all shot long after all of the ‘new’ Vegas had become what it is now, but shortly after the market crashed and so I wonder if this area is at all fixed up or in the same conditions it was in these photos?!
I can’t decide if Peter Pan needs to be color or not?
There are apt to be bugs in this place.
How reassuring. Nice Rooms.
Lets just say that’s ONE jacuzzi i’m steering clear of unless I bring a gallon of Clorox with me.
I kinda like the sign in color too!!
Im guessing ‘family units’ mean there will be other families in your room….
How cool is THAT sign?!
All pink and green–it had to be color!
She gently hovers over you while you get robbed….
I could make some joke here–but what can I say? They recognize the importance of recreation AND education.
It’s Vegas where it’s normally 115 degrees–but thank goodness the gateway offers ‘Warm Heat’
Sadly I could not really get a good angle on this, but included it anyway!
