Mike + Pat’s San Francisco wedding – part one: NAPA
Napa Valley wedding & friends weekend
A few months back I received a call from a ‘past groom’ telling me about a great weekend he and his close friends from college were planning. Their dear friend (and college roommate) Mike was moving back to the states from London, where he had lived for something like the last 18 years. While there he had met and fallen in love with Pat, and the 2 were moving back to the states, now that they could get legally married.
I was invited to join them of a weekend of matrimonial hijinks, including a stay at their OTHER friends Napa Guest house (so really, how could I say no?!)
We all met at at CornerStone in Somona, wandered a bit and took some candid moments
the artwork in the gardens there is really quite cool
One must have a proper sunhat for an outing in Sonoma….
Our Grooms!
Our next stop was Cline Cellars where I may or may not have left with a case of wine…..
Afterwards we zipped across the street to Jacuzzi Family Vineyards, where we had ANOTHER tasting as well as these little delicious chocolate dessert/wine cups!

And this was along the road–so who could resist?!

The next morning we started our day with what turned out to be my favorite place, Spring Mountain Vineyard. I mean EVERYTHING we tasted here was excellent–no joke.
an impromptu ‘engagement’ session at Spring Mountain!
Inside the ‘wine cave’ they had a private tasting setup for us to enjoy.
Marilyn from Spring Mountain was so kind and really explained everything she was serving us–and was fun too!
the 3 college roommates (they have a less PC name for themselves I shall spare you from- lol)
There’s a lot of giggling, so I think the wine tasting was sucessful!
Such a great location for a whole group photograph!
We made one final stop at Opus One winery (can’t recommend it–spooky and WAY too pricy) but it DID make for a great spot for a final set of photos before heading back to San Francisco!
STAY TUNED FOR PART 2 – the wedding in San Francisco Bay under the Golden Gate!
