Mary Beth + Ashley's fun shoot!
Back on a very chilly day in November, my pal Mary Beth ( a fellow CT photographer ) and her Girlfriend Ashley agreed to pose for me for a small photo shoot. With the legalization of Same-Sex marriage in CT I realized, that while I have a number of gay events under my belt, I felt really light on images in general. I have a great wedding coming up in May, but wanted to see if I could start to gather a few more shoots along those lines.
They were terrific sports about it all, and ready and willing to be my models for the afternoon ( despite the freezing cold!)
We started out by a cool old barn right by Ashely’s house…
this turned out to be a happy mistake: there were zillions of small gnats jittering around in the sun, and so in these backlit shots, it’s kinda hard to tell WHAT’S going on but I think it looks cool!!
Mary Beth had scoped out some local areas, one of which was a factory with all sorts of giant wooden spools stacked up. I asked myself, “What kind of place is this?”
Then I read the sign.
They make wooden spools.
The ladies braved smushing between two parked tractor-trailers for what ended up being one of my favorites from the day—
Thanks again for your help, agreeing to do this and enduring the chilly day!
