A wedding @ The Inn At Longshore | Lauren+Nate

My goodness–you know there are simply weddings where you feel like everywhere really ‘works’. Great couple, perfect weather – terrific crowd: Nate and Lauren’s wedding at The Inn at Longshore was one of those days. Take a look!
I mean to start off, the light in this image was so great I kinda felt like I couldn’t top myself after that! 🙂

We started off the day at Lauren’s Moms house in Norwalk where all the gals got ready
The fellas in the meantime, were all hanging out and getting prepped at The Inn
I just love this moment while Lauren was being haloed putting on her shoes
I REALLY though this dress was incredible. It reminded me so much of something from the 50’s, with the custom made bolero jacket made by the talented folks at The Plumed Serpent in Westport CT
I’m not sure how well this translates, but this was like the sweetest moment ever. Lauren’s Grandma got SO emotional when she saw her in her dress that she simply could not contain her emotion. It got all the bridesmaids in the doorway all worked up as well!

Believe it or not, this was photographed very simply against a white wall right in the middle of the kitchen! Proof you can really make a great photo almost anywhere is you look for the right light!
Laurens borrowed and blue item was a great vintage garter that had been worn through a few generations!

So I have been in a little bit of a ‘film mode’ once again after my Brimfield Portrait Film Project, where I took my old Hasselblad 500CM camera ‘out of mothballs’ and got what I thought were some great images. I decided to bring it to this wedding and do a few rather formal film portraits of the couple. I was really quite pleased with these results!

We just had the BEST sky this day along the shore in Westport!
Laurens Grandmas watches them sign the Ketubah.

The interior of Longshore looked great!
Thanks so much to Lauren, Nate and everyone involved for making this such a great day. Also thank to Christine and the staff at The Inn at Longshore. Thanks as well to Ian Witschy for second shooting
Thanks, Robert! Seeing this post made coming back from our honeymoon much less painful 🙂
