‘Vintage Style’ wedding in Holyoke MA – Keli and Peter
Vintage styled wedding at Mount Holyoke College
Keli contacted me explaining that her wedding was going to have a distinctly vintage look, which as might have guessed–got me immediately excited. Both she and Peter got ready at Mount Holyoke college which was also exciting for me, as I LOVE a new location to explore. It was an especially lovely October day with – as you will see – some amazing light. Take a look…
I was beyond excited to actually see a bold, red wedding dress for a change!
And check out those shoes!
Some old cameras for details is always a good thing!
Now THERE’S a bride who is not afraid to go big and go BOLD!
The fellas make their way over for the First Look
Just look at Peter’s expression in that lower right shot–that’s why I love First Looks so much! I’m so happy they are becoming more and more common.
The repeating lines of the amphitheater quickly became one of my favorite spots there

Oh yes–one of my FAVORITES from the day! That golden backlight I dream about for every wedding! (no really-I have dreams about it)
a few vintage reception details
When I saw this old greenhouse I knew we had to do SOMETHING with it! I’ve been asked how I got such a high angle on this image. To simply answer there is a steep hill leading up to another building at the college which i’m standing on. No ‘drones’ involved–lol
Since we had pretty much full access to the art museum on campus, I figured why not take advantage and go for something sort of ‘classical’?!

While I had advance notice, Keli changed her dress and they both had a choreographed dance routine which pretty much surprised everybody
Thanks guys of such a cool day – you have no idea how fun it is to photograph a wedding that is planned totally ‘outside the box’!
My wife and I were married on the campus of Mount Holyoke College over 50 years ago. The picture of the gates of the college are unmistakable. But just so we are clear — Mount Holyoke College is not in Holyoke, MA which is some 20 miles away. It is in South Hadley, MA.
