Backyard wedding at home: Megan+Jeremy
a wedding at home in Manchester, Connecticut
SO Megan and Jeremy were married in a VERY personal super-cool backyard event at their home which was jammed packed with personal touches you just would not get at an event at a ‘venue’ (for lack of a bette term)
Megan got ready at her Dads house to start things off—
and – as I came to find out – was SUPER expressive ( and emotional, but thats coming up in a minute…)
+++
I had to photograph her invites which were on thin sheets of a balsa type wood–REALLY cool and totally fitting with the ‘at home’ theme
Dad see her for the first time in her dress….
So meanwhile at their home (where the guys were all getting ready) a bit of havoc ensued since heavy rain was on it’s way in and everyone was trying to figure out what to do at the last minute–
BUT – there was still time for a group hug between Groom , brother and dad… 🙂
The skies stayed clear enough for us to do a First Look
…which got REALLY emotional REALLY fast—
The Autumn leaves here in CT Â had just started to kick in, so I was determined to find some and use them in a photo!
Megan practices her Supermodel moves…
+++
hands down my favorite image of the day!!!
+++
and actually – this might be my SECOND favorite of the day!
Lets just say I was ALL OVER the old suitcases filled with moss!…
they actually had a ‘legal’ ceremony right in their living room out of sight of the guests immediately before what all the guests saw outside.
I love this spontaneous image of Jeremy checking out the weather situation—
and out comes the ring bearer- their dog!!! (which you can kinda only get away with at home, let’s face it!)
our flower-girl  (Jeremy’s Niece) went bananas tossing her petals around
yup. More tears. At this point I was close to joining in….
look at that sweet face!!!! He’s ready to start crying too…
+++
a beer stein from a trip to Germany was Jeremy’s beverage vessel of choice all night 🙂
some pretty groovy tent lighting!
….and a dance with Grandma–really–are you TRYING to make me cry?…[god, i’m getting so mushy in my old age…]
We really enjoyed your beautiful wedding pictures, it was almost like being there. It is so obvious how much love you have for each other are and we wish you many years of happiness. We thought of you while in Florida attending our nieces wedding. Wish we could have been in two places at once.
Love, Maureen & Jim
ps Also loved Obie!
