Astoria NY engagement session | Ali + Dan
Queens NY engagement shoot
Ali and Dan are getting married next July at the Loeb Boathouse in Central Park. We had toyed with the idea of also doing our engagement shoot there, but figured that might be TOO much Central Park! Instead, we opted for Astoria – where they reside (and not far from where I grew up myself, actually)
After some cheese (and maybe wine–but i’ll never tell) we grabbed a few shots at their apt before heading out.
Miss Kitty here is pretty skittish with strangers, but let me feed her a treat right out of my hand!
We started right on their rooftop!
Then we took to the streets where – you know – i’m always on the hunt for cool textures and walls!
Am I nuts that I kind of like it when people walk through the frame?
______
Down by the waterfront at Gantry Plaza State park – I got just a bit enamored with the industrial pieces they left behind…
And how can you beat getting both the United Nations AND the Chrysler Building in the same background??!
______
Once I realized the old Pepsi Sign was still there – I might have let out a little squeal….
Hey- we had to get some college hoodies incorporated into the shoot, right?!
For those of you NOT from the NYC area, Queens is partially known for the existence of the ‘El’ – which are elevated trains which NYC USED too have a lot of. They only remain in a handful of areas – this being one of them. (you’ve seen them in moves, i’m sure)
I was playing around with this one for something a tad different – that little color flare stuff–does it work?
Thanks for a fun afternoon guys–SO looking forward to next year in Central Park!
