A Pond House Wedding | Clarisa + Bill
A wedding in Elizabeth Park | Hartford CT Weddings
When Clarisa and Bill met me here at the house, I knew this would be a terrific wedding, since they were so mellow and easygoing about the day. They even took a lot of my advice regarding timing and all of that (!) Needless to day when the day rolled around it was as fun as I had expected! Take a look…
The ladies and gents all got ready at a hotel in Hartford
Bill bought all the Gentlemen ties for the wedding
I got a little obsessed with the pattern and texture of this mirror – and probably took WAY too many shots this way!
The window light in the hotel room was perfect. This is a good example of being able to shoot a portrait in available surroundings and making it work (in this case a crowded hotel suite) Well, I THINK it works… 🙂

Bill and the guys all headed to Elizabeth Park before the ladies arrived, so we took some time for some informal portraits.
I’d been to this park many times, but never before noticed this little ‘grove’ of pine trees. To me, it suddenly looked like we are in a National park rather than close to downtown Hartford CT – So this maybe my new favorite spot!!
Clarissa arrives for the First Look (and you KNOW I love my First Looks!)
The ladies arrive shortly thereafter
I’m always looking for some sort of unusual background, and the greenhouse at the conservancy was just right!
The trickiest part of Elizabeth Park is the fact that’s is, well..a public park! So on a nice day you can encounter 4 or 5 other weddings, kids running around, people snapping photos etc. So there was a lot of ‘pose-hold-wait’ as people entered and exited the frame. And the bridal party may or may not have shooed a few folks away – LOL
Ceremony under a archway of trees – spectacular

A few of the natural table details
Some adorable kids during cocktail hour who simply were not so sure about me and my camera!
It didn’t take long for the funny hats to come out!!!
