Melissa+AJ @ The Barns at Wesleyan Hills

Gosh i’m all behind on my posting—so better late than never here is Melissa and AJ’s images from several weeks back. They got married and had their reception at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills, ( where I might add – the staff is incredible thoughtful and friendly–) on a rather gloomy, drizzily day. Still, spirits were REALLY high and we got a lot of great stuff despite the pouring rain. In fact – it cleared up enough for us to run outside for – literally – 4 minutes to grab a few shots.

Melissa’a day started at The Inn at Middletown with Dana Bartone behind the brush on makeup!

check out that program! They went with a ‘nature’ inspired theme, with rocks and natural elements everywhere – so the cake as well as the program had a wood grain on it. Tony from Datura: A Modern Garden also did an amazing Huppa which was supposed to be outside, but it ended up coming indoors and acted like a little — well — kind of branch covered ‘tent’ for Melissa and AJ to dine under. In a way , I think it worked better indoors than it would have outside–REALLY cool either way!

Robin grabbed the bouquet and ran outside during a brief rain break. Ironically she had not been to The Barns since HER wedding which was ALSO there on a completely rainy day!

I love the look on AJ’s face during the first look. Miss Robin Dini was on hand that day to grab some amazing candids as well–

OK!! no rain!! lets GET OUTSIDE!!!!

Tony also did an adorable floral parasol for the flower girl!!!

honestly? a ‘wooden’ cake—INCREDIBLE! thanks and congrats to the both of you – for a wonderful day—and especially for being so cool and flexible with the weather issues we dealt with that day.  🙂
