Creating a baby announcement – with pets & Photoshop!

…Well I’M not having a baby but my past couple Bridget and Steve ARE, and decided to announce it in a unique way! For their wedding announcement, they brought over their 3 dogs to ‘hold’ sign that read ‘Save The Date’. After a bit if trial and error, we found a creative method to solve the issue of the dogs all looking in different directions and not sitting near enough to each other. You know what they say about working with kids and animals.

This time around ( now with the addition of a kitty cat ) to announce their baby, we used the same method with a few extra steps–here’s how we did it…

Each animal was photographed separately and alone so mom and dad could use treats to get their attention

Since I was Photoshopping out everything around the animals, Bridget could get quite close with the cookie to get their attention.

Here we torment the Cat who was clearly NOT amused and couldn’t have cared less about any damn baby…

we used a rolled up newspaper that happened to be lying in the driveway as a marker for each previous animal (ghetto, I know—but it worked)

After packing the animals back into the car, it was the couples turn!

With the camera on a tripod the entire time, I also shot a clean ‘background plate’ in case I needed that

And finally PRESTO!!– the finished result, thanks to a little Photoshop Magic!
