Nevena+Todd's wedding @ The Union League Cafe New Haven, CT

A couple weeks back I had a unique opportunity to photograph a wedding that wasn’t ‘mine’. By that I mean I was helping out my good pal Robin Dini, who happened to have a wee-one on the way right around the time of Nevena and Todd’s wedding. Robin and I worked together last year a whole bunch of times, so I was honored she asked me to ‘fill in’ for her. I joined them months back on their Winter E-shoot in NYC so I wouldn’t be a total stranger, which was ton of fun. And I also got to work with Miss Eileen Broderick (who is ALSO tons of fun, I might add. ) I’m certain she AND Robin will BOTH be blogging their images from this day as well—)

so we started the day off at The Study–like maybe the coolest hotel in Fairfield County—I mean… I wanna live in the lobby—

amazing view from the Penthouse ( photoshop geek alert: this is stitched together from 3 images…)

…and groovy shoe alert–OH MY GOD. I’m oblivious to shoes ( and jewelry as well, but COME ON!!!)

the flowers, wall color and little ottoman colors were a perfect match!

the gals got SO excited!!!

…so we had to do some quick busing of the tables in the background (my first job EVER was that of a busboy/slave…) as they ordered food and i’m looking at it going--there is NO WAY to shoot her and not see fries and half-eaten sandwiches. Behind The Scenes Photo spoiler: all the food is kinda dumped on the floor under the coffee table– yes—the magic of photography.

this room is PERFECT for a first look!!

maybe my favorite shot since it’s so abstract—

a little ‘Vintage’ action on this image…

my favoritest building of all at Yale!

great little details and a GREAT golden hour outside on the building of Yale…

Had I known in advance there was going to be a bottle of 1996 DOM, I’d of taken it and run— LOL Actually it was sent by her grandma who could not attend the wedding—how sweet is THAT?

Ok, ok, I suppose I wouldn’t have stolen it—

undefinedundefinedundefinedundefined Congrats and thank you for letting me be a part of your day. Also many thanks to the Union League Cafe who do an amazing job, serve DELICIOUS food and remember to take care of the vendors!!!

Robert! These are fabulous!! I’m not surprised but it is so fun to see how your pics came out–I love how often you remember to photograph the surroundings, too. Really completes the story and the feel of the day. Brilliant! And I love that vintage shot in front of the hotel–so pretty. I loved shooting with you! =)

Ditto what Eileen said. Love your architectural details that accompany the portrait and candid images. Really great detail. Thank you (both) so much for covering this wedding for me. I LOVE how you captured this wedding day and can’t wait to see your images together as a final product. Beautifully done. There are so many great little moments here that I just love!

One of my favorite pictures is from the beginning of this album & it is of Nevena looking through the mirror while putting her makeup on. Awesome work!
