A Burr Homestead Wedding |Kate+Jason

Saturday, August 7th: a BEAUTIFUL day here in CT after several weeks of heat and humidity. And a perfect day for Kate and Jasons outdoor wedding at The Burr Homestead in Fairfield, CT!

I saw this window – and logon empty hallway that screamed out for a slight twist on the typical ‘dress shot’

hey lighting geeks: the ‘striped’ on the wall were a subtle pattern from the old, vintage glass and panels in the winodw!

Jason waited patiently in a snazy tan suit from J Crew for the ‘First Look’

beautiful flowers, as always, by the talented and super-spunky (she may kill me for using that term) Dianne Gaudette Custom Floral Designs

Jasons parents and a number of guests came in from overseas to be here for them. The brides family however, traveled less far – in fact—they live right next door to me!!

The tables had a really, neat, homespun feel to them, especially with the open air tent. They made their own table runners, and dinner was served on large trays, family style!

so I look over during the ceremony, and the ringbearer Jack (the brides Nephew) was patiently disassembling one of Dianes flower pomanders, jamming his little fingers into the holes. I was torn : shoot the ceremony…shoot this adorable moment??!!

a little pre-speech prepping—but check out that shaft of light that popped into the tent right as the sun set!

now THIS I LOVED and have never seen before: the best man made small booklets for each guest to follow along with, as he traced his long history of friendship with the groom!!! How cool an idea is THAT?! Thats the best man on the far left at the grooms baptism.

I thought this impromptu use of a necktie in his fear of losing it was so funny—and very ‘wild west’ in some sort of strange way!

Thanks so much for letting me part of the day – see you guys soon when you get back from Mexico!

I really dig the bridals especially the 6th one down and the ones against the blueish wall. You also rocked the details, the sparklers and um… everything. Great work (as always) Robert!!
